Er.JagadishKhanna,
Do you mean STRUDWIN which is the software from Pune? If it is then I can say it is a good software as I started using it from the day it started but now they have increased the maintenance that is the AMC about Rs10,000/= which is not a good sign to get as it is in par with other software like Etab.
So think about it before getting it but use of it is very easy and the design and anlysis are good.

STRUDS is an Non-Lin and Lin analysis software capable to Analysis and design as per BS and IS code. Powerful GUI , very easy to model.Purhaps in modelling it is the excellent. I used it since 1998 but since last two years i stopped it and shifted to other software because , major issue is AMC too costly and technical support is not iteractive. Also, though it design T,L columns but design is very uneconomical as compared to manual calculation. Proceed with care and get an demo then decide.

Dear sir,
I am using the STRUDS since from  2000 onwards,

The creation of building module and applying the load on elements are
very easy and user friendly ,
Analysing the building structure. is easy

The 3D view for building module are easly visualised
The Design dwg are also transformed to Auto CAD  by means of DXF files
The Sectional graphics for beam and slab also avilable
U need the training for this for atleast  one week,
The AMC for STRUDS is also higher for us since we are using this for low rise building not a high rise building
The support for software is good in my views

In the begining the STRUDS has may debugs,
But now the debugs are  very very less,

If we send any quarry to support the will immedetaly reply

Thank STRUDS

Anandan
Very Happy

Dear Er.JK,

Opinion differs and it is upto you to decide to buy and use it or not.

I have been using struds (strudwin) for many years. It is a good software for Simple Buildings. Very easy geometry input. Load application is also easy. But it has it's limitations too...post processing is not that intuitive. Many bugs are still present ...mainly in presentation of reports and design module. Many a times during design it shows error messages (debug assertion failure etc) which are not at all easy to follow or rectify!

as suggested earlier take a demo...

Dear JK,

I agree with Er.varmap's statement but you know very well that every software has some bugs and disadvantageous. Considering the other software and the available Indian software it is a better version and at the beginning the STRUDWIN has many bugs and no L.+, columns, shear walls and EQ analysis etc but now it has been improved a lot. I used it from the start of selling this product.

As he posted it is your choice to have it or not.

T.Rangarajan.
