Dear yogesh,
Thank you for your reply. actually i need to do my project in staad pro only so it will be better if you tell me how to apply blast loads.
length of my building is 56m. have calculated the blast pressure as 27kN/m^2. and equivalent time is 0.011 secs. i have created plate elements for the wall.
plzz tell me how to define time history and how to apply the blast pressure load.
thank you,
with regards,
vishnu |

Dear Vishnu,
There are two methods for the analysis.
- Static Method : Here, we need to enhance blast pressure based on some empirical formulations (Refer SG-22). This pressure will be directly applied as UDL / Pressure on wall (Very similar to wind pressure). Further, design will be conventional design.
- Dynamic Method : Here, we need estimated the blast pressure on Front wall, Side Wall, Rear Wall & Roof (Refer ASCE manual for blast resistant design). This load shall be applied as pressure time history at node. You need to multiply the time history by tributory area at node for getting force time history. Rest of the procedure is simlar to general time history analysis procedure in STAADpro

it will be great if you can provide any model |
