[quote="suraj"]FEE Debate For Decision Making by SEFI
Based on interaction and inputs from ACCE(I), ACE and CDC A " Manual on Guidelines for Practicing Engineers in India" was published by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, in 1990.
This manual covered fee structure, methods of calculating fees, Appointment Letters, Client- Consultant Relations and other issues.
A very good document to be made available on this site as a guide line. The number can always be modified based the year under consideration and published guideline.
It is professionals need to insists fees commensurates to service to be rendered.
Even then the deliberations/arguments were :
1--- For starter should fees be lowered to support entry.
2--- How can the fees be same for large and small organisations.
3--- Should the fees payable on cost of works and not on specialty.
4--- Should fee structure remains the same for office in Metro and non metro cities.
And so on.
I think those who are in profession need to have a courage to seek fees, which they think they deserve. Industry will always desire to have as less fees as possible.
