I am designing a commercial building with basement. due to architectural restrictions I have a three span continuous beam. 10.5m-9.0m-9.0m. 10.5 meter is carrying to planted columns 150MT @ 5 M from left and 120 MT @ 7.5m from left. Third span is carrying one planted column of 130MT @ 4.5m from left support. the three spans are also carrying a uniform load of 5.5T/M. After analysis I am getting a very big size of beam 140cm wide to 130 cm deep. steel required is also very high. I am too feared about this beam. Please advice what type of beam will be suitable for this situation. columns carrying the beams can be 30cm wide to any length required. outer columns are in basement wall 30cm thick.
I am in urgent need for advise
please help as soon as possible.
thanking you all
