I was going through a book called EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT DESIGN OF STRUCTURES BY MANISH SHRIKHANDE AND PANKAJ AGARWAL.I have been trying to solve the sum related to shear wall wherein they determine the forces acting on the shear wall by actually analyzing the forces acting on the frames and then determining the percentage of forces taken by shear wall.i have not been able to understand how they determine the percentage of lateral load taken by shear wall which is given in TABLE22.5 on pg 396. can anyone pls help me out.....
the sum is given in chapter 22 pg 392. |

Dear Mr Prasad,
Though I have not seen the book you have referred,in my opnion, the contribution of the shear wall will be in proportion of the stiffness as usual.
