Hi Mr Bharat Jain,

You want to become a good structural engineer and at the same time you are asking weather structural engg. is good for me or not?

Please note that you are the best person to choose your career. Others only can give some suggestions. Selecting a branch depends on what you are interested in and not what others think that it is good etc. My father wanted me to become a Mech. Engineer (just because he was a Mech. Engineer), but I became a (successful) Civil Engineer.

I feel that Structural Engg. has more scope that other branches (of course Environmental Engg also has scope with so much pollution that is happening all over the world), and if you are interested, please take it.

However,  the subjects in Structural Engg. involve lot of mathematics. Design is not suitable for many. It is a creative process, though computers and mathematics will help you.

All the best
Subramanian
